Sou Si-tai’s new album #
In Hong Kong, Mrs. Tsar Teh-yun, master of the Fanchuan school, disciple of Shen Caonong, trained several generations of qin amateurs and musicians, including Sou Si-tai and Georges Goormaghtigh.
This album, entitled The Fisherman and the Woodcutter, features eight qin solos and two qin-xiao duets. The qin played was crafted by Sou Si-tai himself, named Xiaoyao (Free from all constraint), and it was fitted out with silk strings. The sounds, pure and serene; the timbre, so refined. The xiao flute was also made by Mr Sou.
