The great qin Master Xu Kuanghua 徐匡华 passed away on February 13th, 2007, at the age of 90. Our deepest sympathies. 深切哀悼
Since a child, his life was focused on the guqin. At 1989, he established the Xihu Guqin Society. He spent so many years of his life teaching the art of the guqin at the qin school of Zhejiang, which was founded by his father, Xu Yuanbai 徐元白.
When 85-year-old, he participated in the movie Hero, directed by Zhang Yimou featuring Jet Li. Xu Kuanghua plays as the elderly blind man who plays the guqin, and he is also the scene’s music performer.
